Fat to fit - 4kg in 4 weeks

With the introduction of Weight Watchers ProPoints system, I am glad that there is this change as I need to reassess my portions, and food intake and its relationship with exercise. I am hoping to loose the nearly 4kg I have gained in the last month or two! I am aiming for 4kg in 4 weeks, ambitious (probably) but I'm embracing the new system totally!

ABOUT THE NEW PRO POINTS PROGRAM?
    •  Fruit and most vegetables are point free.
    •  Carbohydrates and protein are higher points now, but you get more points to use.
    •  The focus is on healthy filling and high nutritional foods
    •  The points are taking into the fat that foods with the same points value may not have the same nutritional value.
    • The new ProPoints use protein, carbohydrate, fat and fibre to assess the value in points.
    • You get an allocated budget of pro Points per day, then an extra weekly Pro Points allowance of 49. You can still earn activity points too.
WHAT I THINK OF THE NEW PRO POINTS PROGRAM
    • I have been doing the system since Monday and I am struggling to eat my allocated 29 points.
    • I eat plenty of fruit and vegies anyway so with them being free I'm not necessarily eating more. It just makes it easier and a no brainer to choose fruit and vegetables instead of processed foods.
    • I am still trying to delete all my recipes and foods that aren't correct in my tracker and its not letting me do a total delete it just sits there and doesn't delete!
    • I will give it more time as I am still finding my way but I am embracing this as a change and reassessing my portions and points usage.

WHAT CHANGES AM I COMMITTED TO MAKING ON THIS NEW PROGRAM!
    • More exercise
    • Looking at portion contol

    Fat to fit - Adaptation

This week Weight Watchers Australia are finally catching up with what the rest of the world are doing. They are bringing out a new system for points called ProPoints. I am interested in finding out more and adapting to the new system. It might be the change I need.

I am going to have to re-teach myself what ProPoints the foods I normally consume are. I can calculate off the top of my head the majority of foods I consume without checking weighing or converting using my WW Points Calculator!  It will be a challenge!

HOW CAN YOU ADAPT YOU WAY OF THINKING?
    • Do not emotionally eat - think about why you are eating that donut
    • Set goals not just long term goals but short term ones too.
    • Reward yourself - buy yourself something new (not a food or alcohol reward)
    • Use visual stimulus. I have an app for my Iphone of Virtual weight loss model, which has my weight now, my original weight and goal weight where I can see each change.
    • Be patient. Losing weight in any kind of healthy way is going to take time. Give yourself a break and don't stress. It took me 10 months to loose 8kg and keep it off!
    • Create a routine. Do it with food and exercise. It will make it easier to get into a habit.
    •  Be honest with yourself. Take note of what you eat and why you are eating that!

    WHAT I DID LAST WEEK:
    • Helped with renovations at my house on Sunday

What I could not live without!

    Blog this Challenge 61

Messy, complicated, full, busy, fun, enjoyable, blessed, colourful… they're all words we can use to describe our lives at different times.

Share one thing that has made your life easier, and that you wish you knew about long before you first got your hands on it!

    Challenge Starts: Friday, 5th November
Challenge Ends: Wednesday 10th November 8pm Sydney Time
    Voting Starts: Friday 12th November
Voting Ends: Thursday 18th November 8pm Sydney Time
    Winner Announced: Sunday 21st November

I could not live without my iPhone. I use it all the time; I email, search the internet, use a variety of applications and I even teach with it!

We live in a world of here and now. I teach students of Generation Y, so I need the here and now to teach them. I use google, wiki, I photograph and scan their assessment with my phone.

I use it in my personal life too, I Skype, Facebook, twitter, I chat to my Weight Watchers Group, I read books, I have a shopping list, I shop using my phone with Ebay,  I have reminders, post it notes,  I even blog from my iPhone!

One of my favourite apps at the moment is Angry Birds. This app is awesome!

The aim of this strategy game is to fling the Angry Birds into pigs who stole the birds eggs.
The Angry Birds app features hours of gameplay, challenging physics-based castle demolition, and lots of replay value. Each of the 120 levels requires logic, skill, and brute force to crush the enemy. I am stuck on Level 2-6. It is bugging me something chronic.

Basically my iphone is my life and lifeline as at the moment with renovations it is my internet and my telephone. I store important contacts as well as photos of products I like from stores. You might remember back to earlier in the year when my iPhone fell out of my jeggins into a toilet. It is still going on aside from everyone else dropping and smashing their phones all around me. (Note- if you drop it in FRESH clean water you can get your phone to work again by putting it in a ziplock bag with rice for 3 days for all the water to be absorbed)

    My iphone is my life!

    Renovations Week 7

This week we've had lots of work at our house!

    The steel went in

The old garage roof went as well. You can really see the enormity of the 4 car garage!

The old garage - to be removed at a later date!

All tarpped up so the stuff still inside doesn't get ruined

Saturday the roof trusses went up over the garage. I got out of helping! I went bathroom shopping instead, YAY!

My partner on the roof to be!

    My Brother in Law

    My Father in Law

Sunday - My Dad and father in Law working on our new master bedroom roof

    What a weekend of work!
