{I should have chosen bigger post it bubbles as my writing does get smaller and smaller.
Get your glasses on!}

Renovations Madness Day 2

Today we moved the clothes line to the side fence & tackled the garage wall. My back is so sore from wheel-barrowing and shovelling; then lifting the rubble into the skip bin. We have a very tidy construction site, courtesy of me! I swept all the dust and mortar up and put it into the skip. I even had a go at using the sledge hammer (I wasn't very good) I later found out that the instructions Greg gave me were wrong; I was holding it in the wrong place as I struck the wall. His instructions were different from what he actually did. BOYS! I will sleep well tonight!  I bet my body will ache tomorrow.

Polly Dolly - Fashion Week

Welcome to Polly Dolly Challenge - Week 21: This week's topic is This weeks theme is: What would your Dolly wear to fashion week? Go visit www.danimezza.com and check out some of the other bloggers links too.

If I ever go to fashion week I want something comfortable yet funky and stylish. I love the cropped bird T Shirt, I still would wear a cami underneath. Teamed with Purple distressed denim and topped with a fitted white jacket. I totally want a pair of these peep toe booties. Finished off with some resin and silver jewellery, a aqua biker satchel filled with water, lipgloss and my essential item my iphone.

Renovations Madness Day 1

Renovations DAY 1 have started today. The Austar dish is currently being moved to another location as that part of the roof will be added to in the months to come. Walls will come down too. Footings are to be started on the 14th so all the brickwork needs to be removed before then. Yay fun. I'm sure the skip will fill quickly.

This will be a long and tedious process as my partner is doing a lot of the work himself. So my weekends are going to full of labouring.

All I can hear is the clunking of work boots on the tiled roof. The dog is hiding on the bed.
I'm sure our neighbours will love us!

Goodbye Pergola
I stood on the edge of the pavers and held a beam above my head while Greg took down the shoddily built pergola.
The feral arch is no more! Yippeee!
The lovely view from the street of the skip bin.
Day 1 of What's in the skip bin: Boxes, foam packaging and various items from the garage.

Fat to Fit - What's your weakness?

What is your weakness? Is it chocolate, wine, cheese, or savouries.

Hi, my name is Adalita and I'm a food addict. I am a “chocoholic,” “carboholic” and “sugar addict”.  I once was a vegephobe. I am now converted. I eat all the things I once craved or was "addicted" to in moderation. I have now lost a total of 25.6kg. Yesterday I realised that is the weight of my dog.  I no longer fear eating foods like chocolate, cheese or savouries and the occasional wine (or three). The thing I love about Weight Watchers is I can enjoy all of these foods. I just know that I can eat them within in my daily points.

Eating is not a choice, and there is no way to go cold turkey. We must eat for survival. Think of what happens when we don't eat; I get a growling stomach, headache, dizziness, cranky. If we're physically hungry usually any food will do. But when we think of food cravings, it's for a particular kind of food. Why do we crave particular foods? You need to work out if it is emotional eating or just mindless eating.

There are so many trigger foods, and they are different for everyone, which promote that loss of control.

I found the following steps helped me to find out why I crave foods

  • Identify the problem foods. knowing what food I craved I could work out why.
  • Determine whether portion control or substitution with another food will be effective to satisfy your craving.
  • Eliminate specific foods not whole categories, (I found with Tony Ferguson that I craved carbs something chronic). Don't just look at the carbs you are consuming, look at the content of the carb and look for one that is lower GI and fills you for longer. I swapped white bread for Burgen Wholegrain.  Donuts for a muesli bar low in sugar and sodium and packed with wholegrains.
  • Always have water on hand, if I have water on hand I am more likely to drink the water rather than choose a food high in fat/sugar/salt. It puts me into a healthy mindset. Substitute another behaviour for the act of eating, eat the swirls or chew sugarfree gum. I overcame a severe nail biting problem by painting my nails a bright colour like a big warning sign; I sat on them every time I thought of biting my nails. I haven't bitten my nails since 2008.  I think it went hand in hand with my weight loss.

Here are some ideas that I tried last week:
  • Eat more fruit and vegetables In pasta, risotto, salad, wraps, sandwiches, for breakfast on Sat /Sun
  • Cut down on sugar (includes sweeteners and honey) 1/2 amount of sweetener / honey
  • Eat more unprocessed foods > Burgen Bread for breakfast instead of Rolled Oats
  • Eat a variety of foods for lunch
  • Drink less alcohol (4 drinks all week)
  • Recover from cold, no high impact sport (no workouts) Eat well to combat no exercise
  • Plan meals for the week (saves time and money) DONE ALL WEEK

Polly Dolly - Friday Night DrinksFashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

This is my Friday Night Drinks outfit if I am going out for drinks. We usually have drinks at our house around the fire (which is gone now) or at my mother in law's house on the deck.Which is a more casual affair.

If I am going out I want to glam up. I love jeans and these jeans are just HOT! I have a sequinned top just like this. I think I will add a cute ruffle to it to update it a bit. Aren't these nude shoes just awesome. I want a pair. I already have a cute chain bag similar to this one. I love wearing my (fake) biker jacket out too. Next time I'm in Melbourne I want a real one. I NEED my iPhone when I'm out with the girls for photos and facebooking. My drink of choice is Vodka Lime and Soda!

Fat to Fit - Getting over being sick

As you know I've been fighting off a cold for the majority of the last 2 weeks.

How do you know when you should get back into your exercise routine after being sick?

Jillian Michaels says: Working out when you're feeling sick can be a drag, but illness doesn't have to derail your routine. If your symptoms appear above your neck (runny nose, sneezing, sore throat), you can keep working out if you take your intensity down a few notches. If your symptoms appear below the neck (a deep chest cough, vomiting, diarrhoea), or if you have a fever, it's best to lay off altogether until you feel better.

If you're well enough to exercise, the key is to keep some momentum going without overdoing it. However, sometimes when you're not feeling well, the last thing you want to do is exercise and eat well. If you do fall off the wagon, don't give up once you're feeling better.

I've taken the past 2 weeks off exercising to recover from my cold. My weight is about the same give or take a kg.

Polly Dolly - Bridesmaid

Polly Dolly - Bridesmaid
Fashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

I have been a bridesmaid twice. I loved being bridesmaid for my Sister in law Kirsty. Her wedding was beautiful and class in black and white. They rented a restaurant out and had their wedding on the lawn overlooking a lake with a water feature.
