Polly Dolly - Friday Night Drinks

Welcome to Polly Dolly Challenge -
Week 20: This week's topic is This weeks theme is: What would your Dolly wear out to Friday Night Drinks? Go visit www.danimezza.com and check out some of the other bloggers links too.

Polly Dolly - Friday Night DrinksFashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

This is my Friday Night Drinks outfit if I am going out for drinks. We usually have drinks at our house around the fire (which is gone now) or at my mother in law's house on the deck.Which is a more casual affair.

If I am going out I want to glam up. I love jeans and these jeans are just HOT! I have a sequinned top just like this. I think I will add a cute ruffle to it to update it a bit. Aren't these nude shoes just awesome. I want a pair. I already have a cute chain bag similar to this one. I love wearing my (fake) biker jacket out too. Next time I'm in Melbourne I want a real one. I NEED my iPhone when I'm out with the girls for photos and facebooking. My drink of choice is Vodka Lime and Soda!

Fat to Fit - Getting over being sick

As you know I've been fighting off a cold for the majority of the last 2 weeks.

How do you know when you should get back into your exercise routine after being sick?

Jillian Michaels says: Working out when you're feeling sick can be a drag, but illness doesn't have to derail your routine. If your symptoms appear above your neck (runny nose, sneezing, sore throat), you can keep working out if you take your intensity down a few notches. If your symptoms appear below the neck (a deep chest cough, vomiting, diarrhoea), or if you have a fever, it's best to lay off altogether until you feel better.

If you're well enough to exercise, the key is to keep some momentum going without overdoing it. However, sometimes when you're not feeling well, the last thing you want to do is exercise and eat well. If you do fall off the wagon, don't give up once you're feeling better.

I've taken the past 2 weeks off exercising to recover from my cold. My weight is about the same give or take a kg.

Here are some ideas that I tried last week:
  • Eat more fruit and vegetables In pasta, risotto, salad, wraps, sandwiches, for breakfast on Sat /Sun
  • Cut down on sugar (includes sweeteners and honey) 1/2 amount of sweetener / honey
  • Eat more unprocessed foods > Burgen Bread for breakfast instead of Rolled Oats
  • Eat a variety of foods for lunch
  • Drink less alcohol (4 drinks all week)
  • Recover from cold, no high impact sport (no workouts) Eat well to combat no exercise
  • Plan meals for the week (saves time and money) DONE ALL WEEK

I suppose that last week posting about not being sick all year kinda ruined all the good vibes. Being out in the sun all day Friday then going to freezing temps while camping on Saturday night coupled with limited sleep added to me getting sick.

Fat to Fit - Daily Workout

How do you do your daily workout?
What keeps you motivated, positive and strong willed to do this workout daily?

I do the following:
    • I have 100's of workouts that I can do in the comfort of my own home.
    • Every magazine I subscribe to has KILLER workouts.
    • I do workouts from www.bodyrock.tv, Zuzana and Freddy have challenging but awesome workouts.
    • On Pay TV Lifestyle you at 6:30am there is My Workout which I have been doing for a while now. My favourite presenters are Janette and Yumi Lee. This week I have done a lot of abs on this workout.
    • DVD's I have a collection of different DVD's to use if there is nothing else that I want to do. I mainly use Carmen Electra's Strip to fit.
I feel a little unco doing some of the workouts but thankfully I am at home in my living room where
I am the only one who can laugh at my clumsiness.

How to stay positive and strong and keep up with your workouts.
    • The first few weeks to a month is the toughest to remain consistent with your exercise routine. It  takes around at least 21 days to change a habit and comfortably get used to a new routine. (I bought myself a book from Kikki-K 21 days to change a habit.)
    • Surround yourself with positive thoughts and people. Having a great support network is great. (That is why I love Weight Watchers so much)
    • Make your workouts count. A short workout at a high intensity works your body better as your heart rate is up for longer and consequently you burn more fat. If your body is hurting, sweating and burning in your 10-20 minute workout the better.  A short more intense workout is so much better than an hour on low or moderate for a cardio session.
    • Don't let the next day muscle pain get you down and stop you from working out. This is called DOMS (Delayed onset muscle soreness) It is good pain. This is your body repairing the muscle tears from your workout.
    • Just get out there and exercise you will feel better for doing it! What it comes down to is that you are in it for yourself and that you deserve to look your best and be fit and healthy. So they key to staying strong and positive is to remember you are in it for you 100%! There is no giving up on life! Push yourself and you WILL get results! (even if you can't see it right away)
Here are some ideas that I tried last week:
  • Eat more fruit and vegetables In pasta, risotto, salad, wraps, sandwiches, for breakfast on Sat /Sun
  • Choose healthy zero point food instead of chocolate or wine at end of day when hungry only chocolate 1 day this week
  • Cut down on sugar (includes sweeteners and honey) 1/2 amount of sweetener / honey
  • Eat more unprocessed foods (steel cut oats instead of Uncle Tobys Quick Oats or Weight Wise Oats) Mon-Fri
  • Drink less alcohol (4 drinks all week)
  • Exercise more - make a date with yourself  Workout 4 days this week plus 13.3km bike ride Sunday.
  • Plan meals for the week (saves time and money) DONE ALL WEEK2

Weekend Wrap up

I have successfully made another weekend below 50kg. I ate, enjoyed and exercised.

Yesterday I went for a ride in my Local State forest and did 3 laps of a cross country loop and then climbed 3 Hills (well only 2 as the track started 1/2 way up). This 3 Hills Single track was very rocky and a challenge for me. My partner thought I'd be walking most of it. I just chose a line and stuck to it focusing; on not breaking too heavily into corners. I managed to do all my wheelies over obstacles but not to the best of my ability. More practice needed. Greg is going to take me down hilling in a few weeks on his RMX. I am very scared. I hope I will do well though as I want to start training for Canada.

I have done a workout this morning and I will see how I feel this afternoon if I do another or go for a run.

Have a great week!
